The National Coalition Against Cryptomining (NCAC) is a group of everyday citizens relentlessly dedicated to informing the general public and our elected representatives about the destructive cryptomining industry. We regularly talk to the media, politicians, educators, and local groups about how to spot and stop cryptomines from being built in their hometowns.

The NCAC is often contacted by citizens living near a bitcoin mine. We guide them through starting up local chapters, show them the ropes of civic engagement like requesting public records, and lean on our network to provide whatever support is available.

Cryptomining companies prey on unsuspecting towns by exaggerating the impact of new jobs and revenue. This industry chooses to ignore valid concerns about wasteful energy practices, higher electricity rates, increased emissions, enormous water consumption, high noise levels, and massive amounts of physical e-waste.

The National Coalition Against Cryptomining aims to protect communities from the harm caused by bitcoin miners and seek justice for those already affected by cryptomining’s negative impacts.
